Adelaide Launch
We had the first launch of A Picture Book First and Foremost last week in Adelaide. Very exciting. I painted and collaged some cars (the bentley you'll see in the book) and they were exhibited amongst some of the paintings from the book. It was great to be in the new BMW showroom which is perched above the street looking over the parklands. It is up the road from where i grew up and as a teenager i bussed and rode my motor bike up this road to work. Its hard to believe staring accross this road that that was 30 years ago.
The book signing at Extra Newsagents was great as it was my old local hangout and where my passion for interior mags and books on art and architecture could be satisfied. Some queried why one of the more major bookstores wasn't the venue but these guys have been selling some of the coolest books for decades and their mother had the greek restaurant next door. People say one of the owners Chris spends more time in cafes and is the unnoficial mayor, but the newsagents itself is a local hangout and rest assured he spends much time overseeing home base.
