Sandcastles

It's funny, one of the first things I discussed with Earl was the idea of building a sandcastle in the shed studio. Earl subsequently mentioned to the 3 Deep boys that I don't just talk about doing things, I do them. I really didn’t want Earl to ever regret that faith he has in me and so there was no way I couldn't have the sandcastle built! My children were so drawn to playing in the sand next to it, creating their own smaller versions of it. I love lighthouses and yet, since 15 years of age, have suffered from varying degrees of agoraphobia. I love having the lighthouse in my studio, it helps me imagine all the coast and lighthouse keepers stories of days past. It is such a imaginary structure in both scale and material that all sorts of scenarios can be invented. I enjoy having scenarios conjure up from from the intimate confines of my studio.
